What Are All-on-4 Implants?
All-on-4 dental implants are a specialty procedure to restore missing teeth with faster results. Your oral surgeon will still use dental implants, but places them at a specific angle to avoid the nerve canal. Depending on your case, you may receive a temporary set of teeth that same day. After you fully heal, you receive a set of custom-made dentures that we permanently attach to the implants, ensuring exceptional stability.

All-on-4 Dental Implants FAQs
What is the process for getting all-on-4 dental implants?
Getting all-on-4 involves a few steps, but the results are worth the process.
- We start with a consultation and a full oral exam. Your specialist will review your medical history and discuss your expectations and goals. If all-on-4 meets your needs, we can move forward with the process.
- We fully numb the jaw to facilitate a pain-free procedure. If any teeth need to be removed, we start with that. Otherwise, we can move straight to placing the implants. Each post is surgically placed in the gum where the strongest areas of bone are situated.
- We close the insertion sites. You may also receive temporary dentures to wear over the implants.
- Over 3 to 6 months, the implants will fuse to your jawbone, providing a stable anchor. Once this process is complete, you can come in to receive your permanent teeth.
- The last step involves permanently attaching the full arch of teeth to the implants. If everything looks and feels right, then you are all set.
How do all-on-4 dental implants differ from other tooth replacement solutions?
All-on-4 involves a special combination of dental implants and full-arch prosthetics. We also offer other options that differ in their benefits and limitations.
- Dental Bridges: Uses remaining teeth to support a bridge of artificial teeth.
- Dental Implant Crowns: Affix a single tooth to each dental implant you receive.
- Dentures: Partial or full sets of teeth that rest over the gums without added support.
- Implant-supported Dentures: Uses implants to support removable sets of teeth. Similar to all-on-4 except for the detachability of the dentures.
Who is a good candidate for all-on-4 dental implants?
All-on-4 implants work well for most patients missing most or all of their teeth. However, a good candidate will need to meet a few requirements before moving forward. These include:
- Being in overall good health
- Having enough jawbone density
- Having no active oral health issues
- Being ready to go through the process steps
What is the recovery process like after getting all-on-4 dental implants?
Our gums heal remarkably fast. Still, it is important to be careful while having your implants heal. Key points of the recovery process include:
- Expect mild soreness for a few days after the procedure.
- Mild bleeding is normal and should stop after a few days.
- Use pain relievers and ice packs to manage discomfort and swelling.
- Maintain a soft food diet as instructed.
- Avoid certain foods until receiving your permanent implants.
How much do all-on-4 implants cost?
Total costs for all-on-4 will vary based on individual factors of your plan. However, a full arch typically costs between $15,000 and $20,000. We provide each patient a personalized quote before committing to the process, including every cost factor such as:
- Bone grafting (if needed)
- Extraction (if needed)
- Implant placement
- Temporary dentures
- Permanent set of dentures
Does insurance cover all-on-4 implants?
While implant-based procedures are not on standard dental insurance, some plans do provide coverage. More commonly, plans cover at least part of the dentures aspect. We gladly work with patients to help them understand their plan’s coverage.
We also help patients offset the costs in two ways. First, we offer membership plans that give you exclusive discounts on procedures. Additionally, we work with Cherry Financing to help patients find flexible payment plans, often with 0% interest.
